James Street Market, Queensland

I was suggested to look at James Street Market in Queensland, as an example of a design that creates a more seamless and connected space between the outdoor and the indoor. Here are some images I gathered online, and will definitely be analyzing the design and see how I would such design can be “adapted” to the Malaysian context. Not adopted, but adapted.

James Street Market is designed by Cox Architects.

The building(s) plan comprises a broad longitudinal spine which flows from outdoor ‘public room’ through to fresh produce markets as if they are one contiguous space.
